Dog and Pony Show, 2024

Ink on Bristol Paper, 14 in x 17 in

I was inspired to create this piece after watching the presidential debate on June 27, 2024 between Joe Biden and Donald Trump. The design is based on the original poster for the Gentry Brothers’ circus poster as a nod to the absolute inflated spectacle of the presidential election cycles in the modern age. The overproduced, over-promoted performance of politicians dancing around any policy that isn’t funded by and benefiting the hyper-elite, complete with the commission of celebrity entertainers to convince the public, is a dystopian reality that I couldn’t explicate better than I could draw it.
