This project is a prototype for a coffee table puzzle idea that I’d wanted to execute for about a year. The idea was to use both a limited color palette and three simple wood blocks to create a puzzle that creates six or more independent images depending on how the blocks are arranged. The images painted on each side of the blocks can only be used in one completed image, they will never be used twice. In retrospect, the theme of the work involved in developing this project is working beyond material limitations to execute a cohesive work of art.
