This zine series is inspired both by my Klan Lynching series that I then turned into postcards and a recent trip to LA Zine Fest. I found myself working off of the momentum of completing my first zine ever and the remarkably positive feedback from my peers, contemporaries, and loved ones. This medium of creativity has also served as a way of deterring feelings of “artists’ block” and keeping my creative brain actively creating after the loss of my studio, all of my materials, and everything in my lifelong physical portfolio. I’m very grateful to this project for keeping me motivated, inspired, and connected to my people and my creative community in the face of seemingly insurmountable difficulty.
